My Make Up Application

-- HOW I DO IT --

The FACE is the basic palette on which we create the image we desire. Foundation and Powder are the starting points that give a flawless canvas; and Concealer, Highlighter and Bronzer give the added glow. Foundation can be liquid, cream or tinted with a moisturizer. Concealer should be similar to the foundation color, without being too white. Highlighters will bring light to the skin; and bronzers will give a sun-kissed touch in a safe, easy way.

MOISTURIZER & REFINER:

To achieve a flawless make up look, I always use a multi-cleanser. This removes make-up, dirt and pore blocking ingredients effective. After that, I apply a skin refiner. This helps solve acne problems caused by bacteria and it also strengthens the skins immunity so there are no clogged or enlarged pores.

PRIMER:

MUAs (make up artists like me) use a primer that can hydrate dry skin to fit make up. A primer also gives skin radiance and vitality. Primer that I’m personally using refines the skin texture and provides hydration to the skin which is important in the next stage of makeup. Most of all, the primer also works as layer that can provide a very smooth matte finish to your face resulting to an ever more flawless application from your foundation.

FOUNDATION & CONCEALER:

This foundation that I’m using controls the sebum on my skin. It would also prevent my skin (and yours, too) from getting too oily. For the foundation I’m using one with med SPF. This dew foundation has a concealer on top and I’m applying that concealer underneath my eyes. The imperfections like blemishes and dark circles are concealed. Also as a result, skin is kept moist and comfortable thought out the day. Don’t forget when applying concealer, use only your ring finger and dabbing it in a rolling motion. Concentrate in the inner corners of the eyes which sometimes appear s to be slightly blue from sleep deprivation. Also use the concealer on the shadows around the nose. The concealer should work very well and melt into the skin just like snow hence the snow finish. Also, apply more in the undereyes because that usually needs more coverage. Always take your time when applying foundation. It’s very important for our under eyes. For my foundation, I use brush and run it across my face. The brush that I’m using gives a flawless application because it is so light. This foundation that I’m using compromises a honeycomb structure which has moisturizing ingredients. It brings across like a complex and this complex ran back moisture like a cobweb which keeps the moisture running all day long. Your make-up should work very well and if you still have loose foundation powder left over, use that.

(MINERAL) LOOSE/SETTING POWDER:

Take your time and run the powder across the forehead and cheeks. There are a lot of setting brushes in the market today. Get a better one if you’re not satisfied with your current brush. It’s time to move to setting powder. The one I’m using has SPF and is water proof. I just buff the setting powder all over my face. I find it best not to use a kabuki brush because it gives a far too heavy coverage. I like my make-up looking thin and fresh. And this is how to apply make up for a flawless finish....Now I am READY to make art!

The last 3-4 years I have been doing makeup professionally (as freelance make-up artist and hairstylist), and I love making women feeling and looking great with make-up. Airbrushing is all about achieving that flawless look. Airbrushing is good for any occasions but best for editorial shoot. It is perfect for those "hard to match" skin tones.

Bride-to-be:
I ask for a trial before the wedding so that we are both in agreement on the “look” for your wedding day. I will show you a couple of different looks to bring out your best features, and show you what it will look like in photos.
